Volunteer Opportunities: Training

In order to adequately prepare all volunteers and comply with regulations, VNS offers a thorough volunteer training program for those 18 years of age and over.

After submitting a completed volunteer application, all potential volunteers must first be interviewed for this rewarding yet challenging role.

Then the potential volunteer attends a scheduled eight-hour volunteer orientation.  Once compliance requirements are meet, the volunteer is ready to be matched up with a patient/family. 

A commitment of approximately 2-4 hours a week is expected. 

Additional in-services (education) are available on an ongoing basis.
