VNS Foundation: Community Initiatives and Needs
The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home
After years of study, research and planning, VNS built the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home so that terminally ill individuals, who are either homeless or without a full time caregiver, could have a place to go to spend the last chapter of their lives with dignity in a homelike, loving family atmosphere. The doors of the Home opened in July 6 th , 2004 .
The Home is estimated to cost around $300,000 a year to operate. Charitable donations from individuals and the community will be the only resource to keep the home operational going and servicing the less fortunate.
Indigent Care
VNS serves over 50,000 individuals a year with services such as home care, immunizations and crisis & respite services. Many individuals do not have any way to pay for these services. The Indigent Fund of the VNS Foundation, Inc. enables these individuals to receive the care and services they need so that they can remain healthy and independent in the home of their choice. The charitable gifts from numerous individuals help provide these much needed services. Back to Top
